Suffolk born Elizebeth Everett has been at The Meare Shop & Tearoom since starting the business with her late husband, Chris. in 1986. After leaving Mills Grammar School in Framlingham she studied Hotel Management with Trust House Forte before moving to The Cayman Islands and working in the hotel industry. After returning to England & having her 2 children she became County Organiser to Essex Young Farmers.
In 1984 the Everetts decided to come back to Suffolk and started the businesses in Thorpeness - first at the village shop & then at the boating Meare. After Chris's death Liz was joined by her manager (who is part of the extended family from Holland) Jeroen Wuurman in 1999. Jeroen went on to marry Gina a local girl, has a family and permanently settle in Suffolk
